On the first day of 2021, I had written, “Hope versus hopelessness. Rather than think of a situation as hopeless, perhaps it might be better to instead acknowledge that it has come to an end. And because it is over, it can only be one of two things, or both. One is to let it go completely, or two, to transition it into a different type of relationship, or phase in life.” I chose to begin 2021 on the precipice of hope, not knowing yet what lay ahead. Today, I end the year with even more hope for what is yet to be. The past year comes to a close today, and ahead of us lies 365 days of things yet to be. At the end of each year, always remember the wisdom of CS Lewis, “There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”

Today, I pray for you, a new year that is kinder and brighter than any we have experienced before. ❤️
